About The Naples Preserve
The Naples Preserve keeps 9.5 acres of the scrub and pine flatwoods that once covered this part of Florida, right on US 41 North at Fleischmann Boulevard. A raised boardwalk of about 0.4 miles makes a self-guided loop through pine flatwoods and oak scrub, and it is one of the best places in the city to see gopher tortoises at their burrows, along with native plants and birds. The Hedges Family Eco-Center stands at the entrance. The boardwalk is open in daylight hours, and only service dogs are allowed. Go in the cool of the morning, walk quietly and keep to the boardwalk: the tortoises are protected.
Opening hours, prices and seasonal openings change, so please check with The Naples Preserve before you go.
