About Naples Depot Museum

The Naples Depot Museum reopened on 14 January 2026 after repairs following Hurricane Ian. It occupies the restored railway depot on Fifth Avenue South, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and tells how generations of Southwest Floridians used transport to settle the region. Exhibits include Seminole dugout canoes, a mule-drawn wagon, the antique swamp buggy “Tumble Bug” and restored rail cars, among them a 1947 Budd observation car built for the Seaboard Air Line. It opens Tuesday to Saturday, 9 am to 4 pm.

Why it's on our list

  • Restored rail cars
  • Swamp buggy and dugout canoes
  • Historic 1927 depot
