About Collier Museum at Government Center
The Collier Museum at Government Center is the main history museum of Collier County, on the Tamiami Trail East. More than 10,000 square feet of galleries tell the story of the area from prehistoric mastodons and the first big-game hunters to the Calusa civilisation, settlers and the Collier era. Outside are native gardens, The Deuce steam engine, the historic Kokomis boat, a swamp buggy, restored Naples cottages, a reconstructed Seminole War fort and a Second World War Sherman tank. It opens Tuesday to Saturday, 9 am to 4 pm.
