About Going to the movies in Naples: the back story
Naples likes its evenings comfortable, and its cinemas have followed suit: recliners, full menus and cocktails brought to your seat, plus classic and independent films for the city’s many film lovers.
Dinner and a movie
In October 2021 a new cinema opened at Coastland Center, the shopping mall on Tamiami Trail North, on the site of the former Sears store: CMX CinéBistro (Gulf Shore Life). Its six auditoriums have reserved recliners, a full bar and a chef-driven New American menu served during the film (cmxcinemas.com).
The Pavilion and the Cinematheque
In North Naples, the Paragon Pavilion on Vanderbilt Beach Road has an Axis15 Extreme screen, tilted 15 degrees, with 4K laser projection and Dolby Atmos sound, and Lux Box reclining seats with food and drink. It is also home to the Naples Cinematheque, a programme of classic, independent and specialty films (paragontheaters.com). In 2023 Artis—Naples chose the Pavilion as the venue for the Naples International Film Festival.

Movies in the park
The City of Naples brings families together for movie nights in Cambier Park, downtown, with films on a two-storey inflatable screen (naplesgov.com).
Our tips
At CMX, arrive 30 minutes before the film if you want to eat in your seat, and remember that after 8pm most screenings are for adults 21 and over. Book seats online in the winter season, when Naples is at its busiest.
